Veal.Trade ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data when you use our website, trading journal application, and community services (collectively, the "Services").

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign in via Discord OAuth, we receive your Discord user ID, username, and avatar. We do not receive or store your Discord password.

Trading Data: Data you voluntarily enter into the trading journal, including trade records, account balances, and capital entries. This data is yours and is stored to provide the journal functionality.

Usage Data: Basic analytics such as page views, browser type, and device information may be collected to improve the Services. We do not use invasive tracking or fingerprinting.

CSV Imports: When you import broker CSV files, the data is processed to extract trade information. We do not retain the original CSV files after processing.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely to:

• Authenticate your identity and provide access to the Services.
• Store and display your trading journal data back to you.
• Calculate analytics, metrics, and performance statistics for your personal use.
• Improve the functionality and performance of the Services.

4. What We Do NOT Do

• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
• We do not share your trading data with other users or community members.
• We do not use your trading data for advertising or marketing purposes.
• We do not provide your data to brokers, financial institutions, or data aggregators.
• We do not use your data to make trading decisions or provide personalized financial advice.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your trading journal data is stored with encryption at rest. We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Third-Party Services

The Services integrate with third-party providers:

• Discord: Used for authentication. Subject to Discord's Privacy Policy.
• Market Data Providers: We may query third-party APIs (e.g., Polygon.io) for market data used in trade analysis. These queries use contract symbols only and do not include your personal information.
• TradingView: Indicator links direct to TradingView's platform, subject to their own privacy policy.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us through the Discord community. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data in your trading journal.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Export your trading data at any time.
• Withdraw consent by disconnecting your Discord account.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

The Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
